Abstract
Introduction: the development of educational technologies is an important strategy for creating a closer connection between science and teaching practice, promoting innovation and improving the quality of education. The creation of materials such as digital booklets enables the dissemination of scientific content in an accessible way, favoring critical reflection and the adoption of new pedagogical practices. Therefore, the development of a technology focused on the development of executive functions seeks to articulate theoretical evidence with the real demands of teachers, contributing to learning, cognitive inclusion, and the strengthening of teacher training.
Objective: to describe the construction of an educational technology for teachers on the importance of developing executive functions in the learning process.
Method: this is a methodological study focused on the construction of a digital booklet, targeting teachers of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. To this end, the construction was carried out in the following stages: an integrative review study and interviews applied to teachers from schools in the city of Vitória- Espírito Santo; analysis of the compiled interviews for the selection of the primer’s content; and design creation.
Results: the integrative review confirmed the importance of executive functions for learning and identified effective pedagogical strategies. Interviews with teachers revealed little theoretical knowledge on the subject, but an empirical perception of its relevance in the classroom. Content analysis contributed to the classification of categories that guide the development of the booklet, built collaboratively, with accessible language and scientific foundation, as an educational technology to support teaching practice.
Conclusion: the construction of the booklet allowed us to conceive that following a robust method for developing a technology, linking the theoretical character to the needs indicated by the target audience, through active listening, strengthens teacher training and the inclusion of scientific evidence in daily pedagogical practice. The future use of the booklet as an educational technology will contribute to the promotion of more inclusive practices and the development of fundamental cognitive skills in students.
